Day 2/ August 2nd – Annette Inlet to Jedediah Island

Woke up early and motored North through the Gulf Islands then out Dodd Narrows at slack tide, and into Nanaimo.  Wind in the straight blowing 25 knots NW.  Tucked in to Newcastle Island for lunch and to get the boat ready to rumble… then headed out up the Strait.

Nice trip to Jedediah – combination of motoring and some sailing.  Quite windy, with some swell – Jeff feeling a little woozy due to motions.  Sailed past a mostly covered vertical floating log – definition of a deadhead! That would have hurt.

Hunted around Jedediah for a nice spot to anchor. With a strong NW in the forecast we were looking to get tucked in a bit.  Eventually stern tied in the lee of Paul Island. Turned out to be pretty nice there and avoided the crowds in Deep Bay.

Photos of the early part of the trip are lacking – mostly on Jeff’s phone I think.  Here are two of us dudes doing what we do.
